Credit check: the biggest difference

CareCredit is a credit card, so applying triggers a hard credit inquiry and approval depends on your credit history. Applicants with lower scores are frequently declined.

Denefits doesn’t check credit at all. Approval is based on identity and income, which is why 95% of applicants are approved and why applying leaves no mark on your credit report.

Interest rates and promotional financing

CareCredit’s standard purchase rate starts at 26.99% or higher. Its promotional financing uses deferred interest: if the promo balance isn’t paid in full by the end of the promo period, interest is typically charged back to the original purchase date.

Denefits’ EZ plan also uses a deferred window, but the rate afterward is 17.57%, and the standard rate is 19.90%. The No-Fee Plan carries no interest at all.

Denefits EZ Deferred$125 → $146~$443
Denefits standard (19.90%)$153~$661

Illustrative estimates; Denefits figures exclude the 3.00% per-payment transaction fee. Card example assumes fixed payments at a 26.99% rate.

Approval and who qualifies

Denefits fits best if you…

  • Have bad credit, no credit, or a past bankruptcy
  • Don’t want a credit inquiry
  • Need financing for HVAC, auto, or education
  • Prefer fixed, predictable payments

CareCredit fits best if you…

  • • Have strong credit
  • • Want a reusable credit line
  • • Can pay promo balances in full on time
  • • Only need health or vet financing

Can you use both?

Yes. Many providers offer CareCredit alongside Denefits. A common approach: apply for CareCredit if you have strong credit, and use Denefits when CareCredit declines you or when you want to avoid a hard inquiry.

The verdict

Choose Denefits if you want guaranteed simplicity: no credit check, a 95% approval rate, and fixed monthly payments up to $5,000. Choose CareCredit if you have excellent credit and want an ongoing card you can reuse.
